It is even more annoying that they never added anything noteworthy over the game! Back in the day, I was a huge fan of the arcade shooter. What I got instead was a dismal attempt at a resurrection of an age-old favorite genre. Beach Head is simple enough to play. Aiming the weapon is difficult. There is significant, purposeful, sloppy aim when trying to bead in on the target.
That in itself was frustrating enough, but fortunately, I was blessed with many more disappointments. Weapon choices were severely limited as were the range of enemies. With only nine different enemies not including the ground troops that leapt from the transport vehicles , my interest level quickly deteriorated as the game progressed.
Interesting how my pistol shot tracer fire that was as large as what was produced by the M Even more interesting was how I could shoot cannon fire that would completely pass through some of the tanks and other vehicles, and how ground troops would pass right through parts of the transport vehicle while running.
Could this get any worse? Why, of course it could! In this day and age, it should embarrass the game developers to put out games that are not just graphically inferior, but that are just plain bad.
Having a degree perspective while taking in the landscape provided, for some excellent views of the graphic deficiencies in the game. Explosions were crude at best. Age rating For all ages. You are in a bunker and you are the last line of defense against invading forces on the beach. It is a very simple premise and one that is perfect for an arcade game. The premise is so solid that the sequel is the exact same thing! There is no ending or anything like that or any kind of story, you are a one-man army and that is that. The arcade machine of Beach Head uses a trackball.
Here you use your mouse and it works very well in simulating a trackball so I give them credit for that. The game has you stuck in one spot and while you can look around you cannot actually move. You move the mouse around the screen and shoot soldiers, tanks, choppers, and anything else that is coming your way. It starts off rather slow, but it eventually ramps up and you will die at some point.
Shooting down enemies is very satisfying. The game on each stage has you needing to survive so many waves of enemies.
You just keep on going until you eventually die. It is all about getting as far as you can and getting the highest score possible. The casual management is made so specifically to reach a larger audience.. Developers from the company "Digital Fusion Inc. All missions of the single-player campaign, of which there are more than 20 pieces, take place on a huge beach, where the enemy assaults allied points.
They do this with the help of all kinds of equipment, from airplanes and helicopters, to tanks, self-propelled guns and ships.
